Notably, the Judiciary and Rules Working Group met to discuss legislation related to reductions in employer liability. The language of the draft bill originated with the Idaho Liability Reform Coalition and was presented by the co-chairs of the working group.

The working group voted to recommend that legislative leadership request the Governor to call a special session to consider the specific draft bill brought by the co-chairs, which can be found here: Draft Bill PDF

Raft Idaho and Fish Idaho Promotional Videos

First and foremost, please share these videos far and wide and often!

Thanks to the support of the Idaho Travel Council and countless hours of volunteering by members of the Marketing Committee (In particular Rec. VP, Colby Blair), IOGA has contracted the production of promotional videos for our Raft and Fish Idaho Brands, to be leveraged across social channels (and your communications and outreach!). Huge thanks also to Sigma Wolf Media (Devin) for your incredible work and support for our industry and local communities.

Sigma Wolf Media will begin filming for the production of additional IOGA Brand Videos (Hunt, Ride, etc.) this Fall. Please let us know if you might be able to support that effort by allowing Devin on one or some of your trips to film.

Secretary Perdue Memo on USFS Streamlining

Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, recently announced in a memorandum to the U.S. Forest Service Chief, a suite of reforms for commercial uses on forest lands, among which, the memo directs the US Forest Service to increase access to National Forest System lands by
  • “streamlining the permit process for recreational activities and embracing new technologies and recreation opportunities” and
  • by opening “public access to… lands with currently limited access where feasible.”
The memo also directs the US Forest Service to expedite environmental reviews, streamlining processes while ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources. The Forest Service will:
  • "set time and page limits on the completion of environmental documents, including categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements” and
  • “streamline policy to ensure environmental reviews focus on analysis that is required by law and regulation.”
