US Forest Service Guidance on Fee Relief
The US Forest Service issued guidance on April 8, 2020 to individual forests regarding operating fee relief across the country. This is guidance, and not direction, and therefore non-binding, keeping the final decision in the power of the local forest.
The guidance encourages forests to extend a 90-day fee deferral to its permittees, to ease the pressure on operators who are set up to pay their estimated use. Finally,the guidance also includes provisions to relax other requirements during the 90-day period.

Over the past week, Idaho has been showing indications that the 'curve' in our state may be flattening. However, the owner of Saltzer Health Medical Group and founding member of the initiative, "Crush the Curve," Dr. Tommy Ahlquist cautions that while the figures coming in are promising, more tests and more widespread testing is necessary to affirm the numbers and pave the way for a safe 'reopening'. “That’s the bottom line, COVID-19 testing and antibody testing, there’s just not enough of it.”

Governor Little will host a press conference regarding the 21-Day Stay-Home Order tomorrow, 4/14, at 11 a.m., in which he is expected to update the state regarding whether the order will be extended, rescinded, or otherwise adjusted.
The Governor will also be answering questions about COVID-19 in Idaho LIVE on Idaho Public television this Thursday, 4/16, at 8:00PM on IPT and online.
